An experienced Old Soldier and Academic, Darrell McCoy holds the titles of Command Sergeant Major and Doctor of Education. Despite his extensive military and educational background, Darrell is also an Aspiring Artist. His artistic journey began with photography as a hobby, which eventually led him to explore etching in 2015, acrylic in 2018, and oil painting in 2020. Admitting to still being a novice at age 55, Darrell sets his sights on being recognized as a successful artist by the time he turns 60 in 2028. Now happily immersed in his garage painting, he finds joy in creating while surrounded by his loving family.
Family plays a significant role in Darrell's life, with his wife Joy by his side for 20 years. They have weathered life's ups and downs together, finding strength and support in each other. Alongside their two sons, Ezekiel and Malachi, the McCoy family shares a passion for art and strategy games. Ezekiel, an aspiring artist himself, draws inspiration from his father's creative pursuits, while Malachi enjoys exploring historical strategy games and dabbling in art.
In addition to his artistic endeavors, Darrell balances his time with a civilian career as a Senior Training and Development Specialist since 2007. His military background includes serving in the Army Reserve, Texas Army National Guard, US Marines, and Army Reserve over the years. With a strong educational foundation, Darrell holds a Doctor of Education, along with several other advanced degrees in various fields.
