Darrell McCoy, an old soldier and academic with a background as a Command Sergeant Major and Doctor of Education, has recently embarked on a new journey as an aspiring artist. Starting off with photography as a hobby, Darrell transitioned to etching in 2015, acrylic in 2018, and finally oil painting in 2020. Despite being a novice at the age of 55, his goal is to be recognized as a successful artist by the time he turns 60 in 2028. Now happily settled in his garage, Darrell spends his days painting and enjoying life with his family.
Family plays a significant role in Darrell's life, with his wife Joy by his side for the past 20 years, supporting him through thick and thin. Together, they have two sons - Ezekiel, who is an aspiring artist in his own right, and Malachi, who has a passion for strategy games and dabbles in art. With God and his family as his driving forces, Darrell considers himself successful in both his personal and professional life.
In addition to his artistic pursuits, Darrell has had a successful career as a Senior Training and Development Specialist since 2007. His military background includes service in the Army Reserve, Texas Army National Guard, US Marines, and Army Reserve from 1985 to the present. With a strong educational background, including a Doctorate of Education, Darrell is well-equipped to handle the challenges of his various roles.
Darrell's original paintings, often given as gifts, bear his signature and the date of creation. These unique pieces would make a beautiful addition to any home or office decor. To purchase prints of Darrell's work, visit his LinkedIn page for more details. Thank you for your support.
