Ronald P. Rakowski


Ronald Rakowski, a native of the Mohawk Valley and Adirondacks, has been painting watercolor scenes for thirty years. Despite being mostly self-taught, he has drawn inspiration from renowned watercolor artists such as Ralph Murray, Don Getz, Willard Sauter, and Edward Cristianna. Rakowski's work has been recognized in prestigious exhibitions including the Adirondacks National Exhibition of American Watercolors and the Lake Placid Center for the Arts Winter Show. Additionally, his paintings have been featured in the View's "Winter in Action" invitation show and the Kirkland Arts Center Four by Four show.

Notably, Rakowski has received numerous accolades for his work, including best in show awards at events like the Old Forge Library's "Poetry and Illustration" event. His talent has also earned him a spot in the Masters Division of the Central Adirondack Art Show. The artist has had the privilege of showcasing his work in solo exhibitions at the Old Forge Library, and his pieces have been featured in the "localADK" magazine on multiple occasions. One of his paintings, "Mighty Mite TV," was even selected as the painting of the month for December 2023 in the View Arts calendar.
