Ronald P. Rakowski


Ronald Rakowski, a native of the Mohawk Valley and Adirondacks, has been painting watercolor scenes for over thirty years. While mostly self-taught, he has drawn inspiration from renowned watercolor artists such as Ralph Murray, Don Getz, Willard Sauter, and Edward Cristianna. His work has been recognized in prestigious exhibitions such as the Adirondacks National Exhibition of American Watercolors, Munson Williams Sidewalk Show, and the Lake Placid Center for the Arts Winter Show.

Having received accolades like best in show at the Kirkland Arts Center Four by Four show and the Old Forge Library “Poetry and Illustration” event, Rakowski's talent has been celebrated within the art community. He has also been selected into the Masters Division of the Central Adirondack Art Show, showcasing his skill and creativity. The Old Forge Library has hosted two of his solo shows, and his work has been featured in the esteemed “localADK” magazine multiple times.

Rakowski's painting "Mighty Mite TV" was chosen as the painting of the month for December 2023 by the View Arts calendar, highlighting his ability to capture the beauty of landscapes through watercolors. With a studio in Old Forge and a smaller unit in the village, he meticulously handles the matting and framing of his artwork.
