Pat Perrin

She has always been determined to make her living creatively, even if it seems like a risky adventure. After spending years teaching art in Virginia public schools, participating in numerous exhibits, and living on a Shenandoah Valley “art-farm,” she decided to further her education and obtained an art degree. However, when that didn't lead to any exciting opportunities, she took a leap of faith and drove to Los Angeles to work for an interesting newsletter. It was there that she met her husband, who is also a full-time creative focusing on playwriting, poetry, and authorship.

For nearly 14 years, they lived in the Mexican town of San Miguel de Allende, where they founded and managed a scholarship program for at-risk students with the local chapter of PEN International. During their time in Mexico, they also welcomed their daughter into their family. Now, they all reside in North Carolina. Recently, she had a solo show at the local ArtsCenter, showcasing a variety of mediums including fibers, watercolors, charcoal, and digital art. Her work has been featured in galleries and juried shows in both Mexico and the United States, with select pieces available for purchase as prints.

Through her artistic journey, she has discovered that a forest is not just made up of trees, but also the spaces in between; nature embodies both life force and form; and in empty spaces, a subtle energy emerges. For those looking to enhance their home or office decor with unique and captivating artwork, her prints are available for purchase.
