Always determined to make her living through creative pursuits, the artist embarked on an adventure of sorts. After teaching art in Virginia public schools, and exhibiting her work, she enrolled in school to obtain an art degree. Unfulfilled with that experience, she relocated to Los Angeles, where she met her husband, a full-time creative himself.
The two then moved to San Miguel de Allende in Mexico, where they established and ran a scholarship program for at-risk students. While there, they adopted a daughter. Now living in North Carolina, the artist recently had a solo show in the local Arts Center, which included fibers, watercolors, charcoal, and digital art.
Her artwork has been featured in multiple galleries and juried shows, both in Mexico and the United States. She believes that the art of nature is found in the life force of its forms, and that energy is created in the empty spaces.
