Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, Marcy McChesney eventually made her way to California after completing her primary education. She spent over ten years in the Golden State, showcasing her paintings in various coffee houses and galleries from San Diego to San Francisco. In 2001, she decided to return to San Antonio to pursue her BFA at UTSA, which she successfully earned in the spring of 2004.

Throughout her career, Marcy has had numerous solo exhibitions and has been a part of several group shows, including at Arte Contemporáneo and Centro Cultural Aztlán. Her artwork has even been featured in the book "Is This Forever or What?: Poems and Paintings from Texas" by Naomi Shihab Nye, as well as on the cover of Jo LeCouer’s poetry book, "Medicine Woods." She has received media coverage for her exhibitions in various publications such as the San Antonio Express-News and San Antonio Current.
