Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, Marcy McChesney eventually moved to California after completing her primary education. During her time in California, she showcased her paintings in various coffee houses and galleries across the state, from San Diego to San Francisco. It wasn't until 2001 that she returned to San Antonio to pursue her BFA at UTSA, which she successfully completed in the spring of 2004.
Over the years, Marcy has had numerous solo exhibitions and has been a part of various group shows, including at Arte Contemporáneo and Centro Cultural Aztlán. Her artwork has even been featured in publications such as Is This Forever or What?: Poems and Paintings from Texas, by Naomi Shihab Nye, and she recently designed the cover for Jo LeCouer's book of poetry, Medicine Woods. Her work has also garnered media coverage in outlets like San Antonio Express-News and San Antonio Magazine.
