Andrea Lavery Fine Art

Andrea grew up in rural Newtown Connecticut surrounded by nature. She started drawing at a very young age and spent many hours outdoors exploring her surroundings and capturing it on paper. Her dream was to become a professional artist and was fortunate to have family that fully supported and encouraged her to follow those dreams. Andrea received Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Paier College of Art in Hamden Connecticut in 1985.

Following graduation Andrea worked for local design and marketing agencies as an art director, designer, and a freelance comp artist. She took a break from her professional art career to focus on raising her family. Her career path took a little detour over the next few years but she always had a plan to get back to creating art. Finding her passion to paint again in 2012, Andrea began doing small format art. Doing these small works allowed her to start and finish a painting in a relatively small amount of time. She focuses mostly on animals for subject matter and loves to capture them in her own unique way. Over the past few years Andrea has developed a impressionist style that is contemporary and fresh. With bold brushstrokes and fluid texture she creates colorful and engaging little works of art. She is thrilled to now offer prints through Geo Gallery.

Her artwork is in numerous private collections throughout the United States and internationally. She has also created many commissioned works of art.

Andrea currently lives and paints by the shoreline in West Haven, Connecticut with her husband Brian of 26 years and her two children Ben and Maggie. Now that both children are in college there is more time to focus on her art and she plans on transitioning to full time artist in 2019. Dreams really do come true.
