Born and raised in the Detroit Metro area of the United States, the artist eventually settled in the Greater Chicago Area, which they now call home. Living with their husband of many years, they have raised two children who also reside in the area with families of their own. With a father who was a design engineer and a mother who was an accountant, the artist's upbringing provided a balance between the practical and the aesthetic, influencing their artistic style and approach.
Having fallen in love with Abstract Expressionism in the early 60's, the artist studied Fine Arts in college where their work was first publicly displayed. Despite pursuing a professional career as a Doctor of Psychology, they continue to create art as a form of expression. Drawing inspiration from nature, particularly botanicals, the artist's work reflects their dual nature as a scientific, logical, and intuitive individual, combining elements inherited from both parents.
The artist enjoys working with photography and abstract painting using acrylic and mixed media. They have had the privilege of studying abstract painting with seasoned painters, whose mentorship has provided guidance and inspiration. Their art for sale mainly consists of limited edition prints of their Abstract Expressionism pieces, with occasional photography included in their collections. These prints are available in various sizes on museum quality archival papers or canvas.
With representation in several juried virtual national and international art galleries, as well as selling their work at local art fairs, the artist's pieces have reached a wide audience. While they paint for pleasure, they are also happy to sell their art to those who appreciate their unique style. For those looking to add a touch of artistic flair to their home or office decor, the artist's limited edition prints are the perfect choice.
