Born and raised in the Detroit Metro area of the United States, the artist eventually settled in the Greater Chicago Area, which they now call home. Living with their husband of many years, they have raised two children who also work and live in the area with families of their own. Growing up in a household where art and design were valued, the artist's father, a design engineer, and mother, an accountant, provided a unique balance between the practical and the ethereal.
Falling in love with Abstract Expressionism in the early 60's, the artist pursued Fine Arts in college, where their work was first publicly displayed. Despite making a professional career as a Doctor of Psychology, they currently work as a researcher and consultant for a psychology firm. Their artwork represents a blend of their parents' gifts, as well as their own dual nature as a scientific, logical, and intuitive individual.
With a passion for both photography and abstract painting, the artist has had the privilege of studying under seasoned painters, whose mentorship continues to guide and inspire them. Their art for sale primarily consists of Abstract Expressionism pieces, with occasional photography included in their collections. Inspired by nature, particularly botanicals, the artist's original artwork can be found in their home, as well as in the homes of friends and family, leading them to sell limited edition prints on museum quality archival papers or canvas.
Having representation in various juried virtual national and international art galleries, as well as selling their work at local art fairs, the artist paints for pleasure but is happy to share their art with those who appreciate their unique style. For those looking to enhance their home or office decor with beautifully crafted prints, the artist's limited edition pieces are available for purchase.
