Born and raised in the Detroit Metro area of the United States, the artist eventually settled in the Greater Chicago Area, which they now call home. Living with their husband of many years, they have raised two children who also work and live in the area with families of their own. Growing up, the artist was constantly exposed to the arts, as their father was a design engineer. This early exposure led them to fall in love with Abstract Expressionism in the early 60's. They studied Fine Arts in college, where their work was first publicly displayed, and eventually made a professional career as a Doctor of Psychology. Currently, they work as a researcher and consultant for a psychology firm, drawing inspiration from both their parents' gifts and their own dual nature as a scientific, logical, and intuitive person.
The artist enjoys both photography and abstract painting, primarily using acrylic and mixed media in their work. They have had the privilege of studying abstract painting with two seasoned, well-known painters, whose mentorship continues to provide guidance and inspiration. Their art for sale mainly focuses on Abstract Expressionism, with occasional photography collections. Inspired by nature, especially botanicals, most of their original artwork hangs in their home or in the homes of friends and family. Therefore, they offer limited edition prints of their work in various sizes on museum-quality archival papers or canvas.
Represented in several juried virtual national and international art galleries, the artist has also sold their work at local art fairs. While they paint for pleasure, they are happy to sell their art to those who appreciate their painterly style. For those looking to add a touch of Abstract Expressionism to their home or office decor, the artist's limited edition prints are available for purchase.
