Chunbum Park

Chunbum Park, a talented South Korean artist, delves into the realms of her fantasies as a trans woman through her captivating figurative paintings. Her work also explores the concept of racialized beauty in Japanese anime, as well as anti-racist aesthetics portrayed by her Asian beauties and goddesses. Born in Seoul in 1991, Park made her way to America in 2000 to study English and pursue her education. She spent her high school years at Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville, TN, before honing her artistic skills at the Art Students League of NY and earning her BFA in Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts in 2020.

In addition to her impressive artistic pursuits, Park has showcased her creativity by inventing an engaging art auction card game named ArtBid. She also curates the Emerging Artists Collective website, where she conducts insightful interviews with other up-and-coming artists. Currently, she is immersed in her studies as an MFA Fine Arts Studio thesis candidate at the prestigious Rochester Institute of Technology, further expanding her knowledge and skills in the art world.

Park's thought-provoking paintings, which reflect her personal experiences and societal commentary, are not only visually stunning but also carry deep emotional and cultural significance.
