Chunbum Park

Chunbum Park, a South Korean artist, delves into the realm of fantasy through her figurative paintings, exploring themes related to her identity as a trans woman. Her work also touches on the concept of racialized beauty, drawing inspiration from Japanese anime, and anti-racist aesthetics. Born in Seoul in 1991, Park moved to America in 2000 to pursue her education, attending Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville during her high school years. She went on to study art at the Art Students League of NY and earned her BFA in Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts in 2020.

In addition to her artistic pursuits, Park is the creator of an innovative art auction card game called ArtBid. She also founded the Emerging Artists Collective, a platform where she conducts interviews with other up-and-coming artists. Currently a candidate for an MFA in Fine Arts Studio at the Rochester Institute of Technology, Park continues to push the boundaries of her creativity and explore new avenues of expression through her work.

Park's captivating paintings offer a unique perspective on themes of identity, beauty, and cultural representation. With a blend of fantasy and reality, her art invites viewers to contemplate the complexities of the human experience.
