Linda J. Cavanaugh

Linda Cavanaugh's artistic journey began in 2001, when she decided to trade in her Silicon Valley career for the role of a stay-at-home wife and mom. Initially exploring still life and landscape painting, she eventually sought out a more challenging endeavor in botanical art and illustration. Enrolling in classes at the Mary L. Harden School of Botanical Illustration, located at the San Francisco Botanical Garden, she honed her skills under the expert guidance of Ms. Harden. In 2006, Linda embarked on her first pen and ink class, marking the beginning of a fruitful artistic career.

Since her debut exhibition at Alcatraz Island in 2007 as part of her Master of Botanical Art certification, Linda Cavanaugh has been showcasing and selling her botanical artwork across the Pacific Northwest. Her portfolio has been featured in various prestigious venues, including the Helen Crocker Russell Library of Horticulture, the Conservatory of Flowers, and the Marin Cancer Institute. Linda has also generously donated her paintings to support initiatives like the Just One Tree Project and the National AIDS Memorial Grove. Notably, her painting of the stunning Blue Agave was a highlight of the Intoxicating Plants exhibit at the UCSF Faculty Alumni House and was acquired by Mission Bay Hospitals in July 2014.

In describing her work, Linda Cavanaugh emphasizes the significance of botanical art as a means of narrating the life story of each plant she portrays. She finds beauty in every stage of a plant's lifecycle, from the new bud to the spent leaf, and endeavors to convey this beauty to viewers through her art. For those seeking to add a touch of nature's elegance to their home or office decor, Linda's botanical prints offer a captivating and timeless option.
