Mark Goodhew

Born and raised in South Bend, Indiana, Mark Goodhew now calls LaGrange, Indiana his home. His journey into photography began while studying graphic design and art at Ball State University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Graphic Design and a minor in marketing. After working in his family's NAPA Auto Parts business, Mark rediscovered his passion for photography when he purchased his first digital camera in 2007. Since then, he has been continuously exploring and developing his digital imagery skills.

Mark's photography journey began with film and darkroom techniques during his college days, but digital photography has opened up new possibilities for him. He enjoys using technology to manipulate and enhance his photos, creating what he refers to as "Photo Paintings". Drawing inspiration from the natural beauty of the outdoors, Mark's photography often leans towards "Abstract Impressionism" in style. While some photos require minimal manipulation to capture nature's beauty, others are transformed into stunning abstract paintings through digital enhancements.

The essence of Mark's work lies in viewing his "Photo Paintings" from a distance, where they resemble impressionistic or abstract paintings rather than traditional photographs. Each photo captures a moment in time, waiting to be transformed through computer software to reveal its full potential. By layering portions of the same photo and utilizing various effects, Mark's camera and photo software become his medium for creating unique and captivating images.

Mark Goodhew's latest venture into "Abstract" photography showcases his creativity in cropping and combining smaller areas of his photos to create intricate and mesmerizing designs. For those looking to add a touch of nature's beauty to their home or office decor, Mark's prints offer a unique and artistic touch that will surely enhance any space.
