Originally hailing from Arkansas, Maryalice Johnston currently resides and creates in ENC, drawing inspiration from the lush green landscapes teeming with wildlife and leafy shadows that surround her. Her photos are a reflection of the beauty and tranquility she finds in her natural surroundings.
Johnston holds a BFA from Ringling College of Art + Design in Sarasota, FL, and an MFA from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. She honed her skills and creativity through her academic journey, which has greatly influenced her artistic vision.
Having been in residence at prestigious institutions such as the MacDowell Colony and the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, Johnston has established herself as a prominent figure in the art world. Her two-year Visual Arts Fellowship at FAWC propelled her career, leading her to become the Visual Arts Program Coordinator for eleven years.
