Kaylene J. Big Knife hails from the Chippewa Cree Tribe of the Rocky Boy’s Indian Reservation in Montana. As a graphic designer and digital illustrator, she finds inspiration in comic art, museums, storybooks, and Indigenous language revitalization. Her educational background includes an associate’s degree in Interactive Graphic Design from the Institute of American Indian Arts, a bachelor’s degree in Native American Studies from the University of Montana – Missoula, and a master’s degree in Native American Languages and Linguistics from the University of Arizona. Currently residing in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Big Knife is dedicated to her creative projects.
