Born in Kansas City, MO, Kat's artistic journey began at a young age when her family relocated to San Carlos, CA when she was 10. Living in various areas in Northern California and the North Shore of Oahu, HI, she eventually settled in Hollister, CA, where she currently resides and works from her newly built home studio.
With a passion for high fashion design from a young age, Kat was inspired by the fashion catalogues her father brought home from his job at Vogue Fashion Marketing in NY. Spending hours sketching models, she fell in love with line and form, which she continued to explore throughout her school years. Returning to her education in her mid-20s, she studied art history, painting, sculpting, and design while raising her two young boys.
While working in the Silicon Valley electronics industry, Kat never stopped creating. From pen & ink drawings on glass and shirts to exploring abstract expressionism in various mediums, she eventually found her niche in oil painting in the contemporary realism style. Her award-winning work is collected worldwide, with each piece serving as a form of self-discovery and healing that she hopes will enrich the lives of others.
