Hi, I’m Emily St. Amant, thanks for visiting! I’m a self-taught artist who primarily works with watercolors.
It’s not hard to notice that a lot of my work is ocean and tropical-themed. I’m from Tennessee, and I’ve been painting my whole life. However, when my husband and I moved to the US Virgin Islands in 2022 for his job, I felt inspired to create more than I ever had before.
I create my art by using inspiration from photographs I’ve taken, and some have been done at the scene in plein air (outside).
My main career is that of a mental health therapist. For me, creating art is therapeutic and a way of expressing what’s important. I’m inspired by landscapes of all kinds and the beauty of nature. My work honors the beauty found on our small blue dot in the cosmos, and our environment that is very much worth saving.
The best part of being an artist is the connection with the viewer. I hope my work brings you a sense of peace, joy, and admiration for our natural world. I’d love for you to follow along with me on this creative journey and all the places it takes me!
