Since 2005, the artist has dedicated their time to working at a domestic violence shelter, taking on various roles before settling into their current position as a triage specialist. In this role, they provide crucial services such as safety planning, housing search assistance, and support group facilitation for individuals seeking to escape violence and trauma. Immersed in a world filled with stories of pain, hardship, love, and transformation, the artist finds solace in the ability to create with their eyes, hands, and heart. Living in the midst of a forest, they feel privileged to have a sanctuary that inspires their multimedia projects, helping them stay grounded in a chaotic world.

Inspired by their family, travels, and the natural beauty of the forest that surrounds them, the artist's photography captures the essence of their world. Their digital work often incorporates elements of abstraction and collage, blending photographs of handsewn or handwoven fiber projects with watercolor or acrylic paintings, masks, and sculptural pieces made from paper mache or plaster. Each piece evolves over time, starting with something handmade and growing into a collection of trapped moments that reflect the stories of pain, grief, and anger that have been shared with them. Through their art, the artist seeks to give new form to emotions that cannot always be explained, but can be felt deeply.

With a hope that others may find enjoyment in their work, the artist invites you to explore their prints for home and office decor. Each piece is a unique reflection of the artist's experiences and the stories they have absorbed throughout their time working in the shelter. By bringing a piece of their world into your own space, you can support their creative endeavors while adding a touch of depth and emotion to your surroundings.
