Thea Herzig

Born in Germany in 1969, Thea Herzig has been residing in Switzerland for the past three decades. A skilled pastel artist, she has focused her artistic endeavors on creating "food art" through large-format paintings. Her unique interpretation of the classic still life involves arranging fruits and vegetables into captivating "food patterns".

In her art practice, Thea meticulously arranges, photographs, and assembles all the elements herself. Through a process of sketching preliminary drafts and applying pigments mainly with her fingers, she brings to life hyper-realistic "food patterns" that are enticing enough to make you want to take a bite out of the depicted apples or pears.

A member of various art organizations such as Fine artists Bernese Oberland Bkbeo, KunstInternational in Stuttgart, Pastel Guild of Europe, and International Association of Pastel Societies, Thea is well-connected within the art community. With a background in scientific drawing, nude drawing, and old Masters techniques, she has honed her skills over the years through various artistic training programs.

Having exhibited her work at prestigious venues such as the Unterseen Art Collection, Gallery Hess in Bern, and Galerie Rosengarten Thun, Thea's captivating "food patterns" have garnered attention and praise from art enthusiasts. Her prints would make a stunning addition to any home or office decor, inviting viewers to appreciate the beauty of her unique artistic vision.
