Starky Rubble

Starky Rubble
San Antonio, TX

Starky Rubble has worn many hats throughout his physical period, including roles such as Eagle Scout, clerk, short order cook, and skilled machinist. He has always been involved in various activities, from being a shopkeeper and hippie to a husband and father. Starky has dabbled in different roles, including being a mechanic, jug player, psychedelic evangelist, and public speaker. His experiences as a prisoner, communard, builder, programmer, and ISP have shaped him into who he is today - a builder and programmer with a passion for politics and the arts.

After undergoing a transformational event that left him reshaped by misfortune, scalpel, and saw, Starky Rubble emerged as a monopod. This experience prompted him to reflect on his identity and question what he would become next. Realizing that he had become his avatar, Starky Rubble, he decided to embark on a new phase of unleashing his inner artist. His fascination with Rorschach blots and symmetry has led him to create series like 'Folded Light' and 'Inner Space', exploring the unique perspectives each viewer brings to his work.

Starky Rubble's concern for climate change, dating back to the early 1990s when Al Gore and Tim Wirth first brought it to America's attention, is reflected in his 'Western Wildfires' series. Inspired by the devastating fires that swept through towns like Lytton, BC and Boulder Creek, CA, his photos capture the destructive power of nature. Additionally, his love for science fiction and fantasy has inspired series like 'Many Worlds' and 'Distant Places', transporting viewers to otherworldly realms through his photography. If you're looking to add a touch of creativity and imagination to your home or office decor, consider purchasing prints of Starky Rubble's captivating series.
