Chunbum Park

Chunbum Park is a talented South Korean artist who channels her fantasies and experiences as a trans woman into her captivating figurative paintings. Through her art, she explores the concept of racialized beauty in Japanese anime and promotes anti-racist aesthetics by depicting Asian beauties and goddesses in her work. Born in Seoul, South Korea in 1991, Park moved to America at a young age to pursue her education, attending Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville, TN during her high school years. She further honed her artistic skills by studying at the Art Students League of NY and earning her BFA in Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts in 2020.

In addition to her impressive academic background, Park is also a creative entrepreneur who has invented an engaging art auction card game called ArtBid. She is the driving force behind the Emerging Artists Collective website, where she showcases and interviews other emerging artists, creating a platform for collaboration and inspiration. Currently pursuing her MFA in Fine Arts Studio thesis at the Rochester Institute of Technology, Park continues to push boundaries and challenge norms through her thought-provoking and visually stunning artwork.
