Chunbum Park

Chunbum Park, a talented South Korean artist, delves into the realms of fantasy through her figurative paintings. As a trans woman, she explores her own personal fantasies alongside the concept of racialized beauty found in Japanese anime. Through her art, Park also seeks to promote anti-racist aesthetics by depicting Asian beauties and goddesses in her mesmerizing paintings. Born in Seoul in 1991, Park relocated to America in 2000 to further her education and pursue her passion for art. She honed her skills at Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville, TN during her high school years before going on to study at the Art Students League of NY and earning her BFA in Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts in 2020.

In addition to her impressive artistic endeavors, Park is the creative mind behind an innovative art auction card game called ArtBid. She also established the Emerging Artists Collective, a platform where she interviews and showcases the work of other emerging artists. Currently, Park is working towards her MFA in Fine Arts Studio as a thesis candidate at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Her dedication to her craft and her unique perspective as a trans woman and advocate for anti-racism shine through in her captivating paintings, which invite viewers to explore new worlds and challenge societal norms.
