Margaret R. Isensee

Margaret Isensee, a passionate artist with a keen interest in realism, has a deep love for exploring various media in her work. Currently, she primarily focuses on photography, embracing the vibrant colors in her compositions while also recognizing the powerful impact of black and white imagery. Her artistic vision is rooted in a profound appreciation for the beauty found in God's world and the intricate details that unfold during different moments in time. While she acknowledges the allure of classic scenes like sunsets and landscapes, Margaret is drawn to the overlooked and often neglected elements of nature, such as a weathered barn in a lush field or the delicate light filtering through a wine glass.

Hailing from Marcellus, NY, Margaret honed her artistic skills at SUNY Oswego, where she earned a BA in Art. Under the mentorship of esteemed artists like Laurie Smith, Matthew Friday, and Donalee Peden Wesley, she delved into the realm of photography, exploring both black and white as well as color techniques. Upon relocating to San Antonio, Texas, in 2009, Margaret expanded her photography repertoire by transitioning to digital formats. Actively participating in the local art community, she is a proud member of the Photo SA meetup group and has showcased her work in various competitions, including the Annual San Antonio Photo Tournament, where she has garnered recognition for her exceptional talent.

As Margaret continues to use her camera as a storytelling tool, she invites viewers to join her on a journey off the beaten path of everyday life. By taking a closer look at her photos, one can uncover the hidden narratives behind each image, whether it's a charming Victorian gate in need of restoration or the intricate patterns of light captured in a wine glass. Through her artistic lens, Margaret seeks to inspire contemplation and appreciation for the beauty that surrounds us, urging others to pause and immerse themselves in the visual stories she crafts. For those looking to bring a touch of artistry into their homes or offices, Margaret's prints offer a unique and captivating addition to any space.
