Linda J. Cavanaugh

Linda Cavanaugh embarked on her artistic journey in 2001, transitioning from a career in Silicon Valley to the role of a stay-at-home wife and mother. Initially focusing on still life and landscape painting, she later sought out a more challenging endeavor in botanical art and illustration. Enrolling in classes at the Mary L. Harden School of Botanical Illustration, located at the San Francisco Botanical Garden, she honed her skills under the expert guidance of Ms. Harden. In 2006, she delved into pen and ink techniques, marking the beginning of a new chapter in her artistic career.

Since her first exhibition at Alcatraz Island in 2007 as part of her Master of Botanical Art certification, Linda Cavanaugh has been actively showcasing and selling her botanical artwork across the Pacific Northwest. Her work has been featured in various exhibits, including those at the Helen Crocker Russell Library of Horticulture, the Conservatory of Flowers, the Marin Cancer Institute, and the Bolinas Gallery. Notably, her painting of the stunning Blue Agave was displayed at the UCSF Faculty Alumni House's Intoxicating Plants exhibit and acquired by Mission Bay Hospitals in July 2014.

Linda views botanical art as a means of narrating the life story of plants, capturing their beauty in various stages of growth and decay. She finds equal allure in the withered leaf as in the budding flower, aiming to convey this sentiment through her art. For those seeking to bring a touch of nature into their homes or offices, Linda Cavanaugh's prints offer a unique and captivating option for decor. Don't miss the opportunity to enhance your space with the exquisite botanical creations of this talented artist.
