Lan Lan, a contemporary artist originally from Hong Kong, made the bold decision to leave medical school at The Chinese University of Hong Kong to pursue her passion for art. She furthered her studies at The University of Birmingham, U.S. Department of Arts and Design, broadening her artistic horizons. Upon graduation, Lan Lan immersed herself in the art scene in the U.S., showcasing her work at various art fairs like Old Town Art Fair, Sunriver Art Fair, and Lakeshore Art Festival, where her pieces garnered significant interest and sales.
Working with a diverse range of media such as pen and ink drawings, oil paintings, ceramics, and mixed media sculpture, Lan Lan's artistic versatility is truly remarkable. Her love for animals, particularly dogs, led her to engage in animal rescue efforts in both the U.S. and Mexico. Drawn to the beauty of different cultures, Lan Lan spent time living in Mexico, where she built a home out of an old bus and cared for rescued dogs in primitive conditions, devoid of modern amenities.
Despite facing the challenges of bipolar disorder, Lan Lan remains a playful and affectionate individual who is dedicated to raising awareness about mental well-being and animal protection. Her lifelong passion for art and creativity is evident in her work, which is a reflection of her unique perspective on the world. For those interested in adding a touch of Lan Lan's artistic flair to their home or office decor, her prints are available for purchase.
