Growing up in Western Pennsylvania, Laurie Musser discovered her love for drawing at a young age. Despite the challenge of having six siblings and limited access to clean paper, Laurie's mother provided her with a chalkboard as a creative outlet. After graduating from The Art Institute of Pittsburgh, Laurie made the move to Strongsville, OH, where she spent two decades as an on-staff illustrator with American Greetings. While maintaining freelance relationships with various companies, Laurie felt the desire to explore new opportunities and expand her artistic horizons. In 2003, she took a bold step by launching her own business, Chalkboard Studio, to focus on new challenges and projects.
