Growing up in Northern Oregon, the artist spent his childhood days running through vast open fields and building forts in the dense surrounding forests. His love for stories, imagination, and creating with his hands fueled his passion for art from a young age. As he began translating his creative ideas onto paper, memories of his imaginary adventures inspired him to eventually share his work with others. This drive led him to pursue artistic studies in Southern California, where he graduated with Honors of Distinction from the Art Center College of Design with a BFA in Illustration.
After completing his formal education, the artist delved into the commercial illustration market, running a successful business for over fifteen years. Working with renowned clients such as Mattel, Leap Frog, Scholastic, and Warner Bros, he honed his skills in visual storytelling and realist art. Despite his growth as an artist during this time, he felt a yearning for the freedom to create personal art. In 2010, he made the bold decision to step away from commercial work to focus on developing his own voice and body of work.
A decade later, the artist's passion for the imaginary wilds still burns brightly within him, infusing his photos with a sense of wonder and enchantment. Each piece invites viewers to experience the woods through their own unique perspectives, eliciting a range of emotions and memories.
