Lan Lan Lau

LANLANARTIST
Hong Kong

Lan Lan, a contemporary artist originally from Hong Kong, made a bold decision to leave medical school at The Chinese University of Hong Kong and pursue her passion for art by studying fine arts at the same university. Seeking to broaden her artistic horizons, she furthered her studies at The University of Birmingham's U.S. Department of Arts and Design. Following her graduation, Lan Lan ventured to the U.S. where she showcased her diverse range of talents at various art fairs across the country, including Old Town Art Fair in Chicago, Sunriver Art Fair in Oregon, and Lakeshore Art Festival in Michigan, with tremendous success in sales.

Known for her versatility, Lan Lan has experimented with a wide spectrum of artistic media, including pen and ink drawings, oil paintings, encaustic paintings, ceramics, mixed media sculpture, and Chinese calligraphy. Her deep love for animals, particularly dogs, led her to actively participate in animal rescue efforts in both the U.S. and Mexico. Embracing her adventurous spirit, she found solace in Mexico, where she resided in a humble abode fashioned from an old bus among rescued dogs, living in primitive conditions without modern amenities.

Despite her struggles with bipolar disorder, Lan Lan remains a vibrant and affectionate individual whose creative talents have flourished since childhood. She is dedicated to raising awareness about mental health and animal welfare, reflecting her compassionate nature.
