Lan Lan, a contemporary artist hailing from Hong Kong, made a bold decision to follow her passion for art by dropping out of medical school at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. She pursued fine arts at the same university and later expanded her horizons by studying at The University of Birmingham in the U.S. Department of Arts and Design. Lan Lan's dedication to her craft led her to work in the U.S., where she sold her paintings at various art fairs such as the Old Town Art Fair in Chicago and the Sunriver Art Fair in Oregon, among others, with great success.
With a wide spectrum of artistic talents, Lan Lan works with various media including pen and ink drawings, oil paintings, ceramics, mixed media sculpture, and Chinese calligraphy. Her love for animals, particularly dogs, has driven her to be involved in animal rescue efforts in both the U.S. and Mexico. Lan Lan's adventurous spirit has also taken her around the world to explore different cultures, leading her to spend time in Mexico where she lived in primitive conditions with rescued dogs in a place she built from an old bus.
Despite the challenges of living with bipolar disorder, Lan Lan remains a playful and affectionate individual with a deep appreciation for the arts. She hopes to raise awareness for mental wellbeing and animal protection through her work. For those interested in bringing a piece of Lan Lan's unique and heartfelt creations into their homes or offices, prints of her artwork are available for purchase.
