Katie Kidwell, also known as Katie the Cariboo Song Rider, has had a diverse and successful career in the arts. From being a stage and recording artist to a children’s entertainer and published poet, Katie has explored various avenues of creative expression. Recently, she has returned to her passion for painting and illustration, using her artwork to complement her poetry and storytelling. Based in the picturesque Cariboo Region of British Columbia, Katie works as both a traditional and digital artist.

In 2017, Katie introduced a groundbreaking art show at Parkside Gallery titled "The Little Birds That Fly." This unique exhibition showcased her bird paintings, poetry, stories, and music, all centered around a cohesive theme. During the month-long event, Katie hosted weekly gatherings for patrons, offering impromptu music performances and insightful discussions. Visitors were also given the opportunity to take home a piece of her artwork by sharing why they believed they were the perfect "good home" for a particular painting.

As a gesture of generosity, Katie gave away eighteen of her artworks to deserving recipients, collecting years of personal stories and connections in the process. Parkside Gallery also benefited from a generous donation from the artist. Katie believes that life is a continuous creation journey, and her artwork reflects this belief. She operates Singing Loon Studio from her home in the Cariboo Region, where she continues to create and share her unique vision with the world.

For those looking to bring a touch of Katie's creativity into their own homes or offices, prints of her artwork are available for purchase. With a blend of poetry, storytelling, and visual art, Katie's work is sure to inspire and captivate audiences of all ages.
