Katie Kidwell has enjoyed a diverse and fruitful career in the arts, excelling as a stage and recording artist, children’s entertainer, and published poet. Familiarly known as Katie, the Cariboo Song Rider, she has curated and presented shows celebrating cowboy and native cultures. Recently, Katie has returned to her roots in painting and delved into illustration to complement her poetry and storytelling. Working as a traditional and digital artist from her residence in the Cariboo Region of British Columbia, Katie is continuously exploring new avenues of artistic expression.

In 2017, Katie introduced a groundbreaking art exhibition at Parkside Gallery titled "The Little Birds That Fly," where her bird-themed paintings, poetry, stories, and music converged in a harmonious display. Throughout the month-long showcase, Katie engaged with patrons through impromptu music performances and discussions, inviting them to take home a piece of her art if they could articulate why they were the ideal custodians for it. Remarkably, Katie gifted eighteen works of art to deserving individuals, fostering a sense of community and connection through her creations.

Reflecting on her creative journey, Katie often emphasizes that life is a continuous process of artistic exploration. As the proprietor of Singing Loon Studio, she remains dedicated to her craft and the pursuit of innovative storytelling through various artistic mediums. For those seeking to enhance their home or office decor with unique and thought-provoking prints, Katie's captivating artworks offer an enriching and inspiring addition to any space.
