Born in Texas, Kate Woods found her true sense of “home” in NYC, where she lived for two decades. In 1997, she made the move to the bustling city to attend the School of Visual Arts, earning her BFA in Graphic Design. During her studies, Kate had the opportunity to study abroad in Italy, a pivotal experience that ignited her passion for the contrasting sunlight and earth tones of the Italian streets and landscapes. This fascination with light and dark, lines, and shapes continues to be a major influence in her work.
After completing her undergraduate studies, Kate pursued her love for art education by obtaining an MS from Pratt Institute. With over 20 years of experience in the arts and makeup artistry, she now dedicates her time as a full-time cosmetic tattoo artist. Despite her busy schedule, Kate continues to paint, draw, and explore new creative outlets, all of which reflect her deep appreciation for lines and color. Her diverse creative ventures all stem from this common theme.
