Joanna Dumond is a full-time K-12 art teacher rooted in Northern Maine. She brings a wealth of academic knowledge to her work with a Bachelors in fine art from the University of Maine at Presque Isle, and a Masters in art education from Boston University. A life long learner, Joanna is always seeking to enhance her skills and knowledge where the arts are concerned.
Joanna's artistic vision is deeply influenced by her roots and her daily encounters with the Maine woods. Her work is a reflection of her passion for the outdoors, capturing the essence of the landscapes and the subtle beauty of nature that surround her. Each piece is imbued with a sense of place and a personal narrative, inspired by both the rugged terrain and the quiet moments of solitude that define the region.
With a love for folklore and mythology she loves to incorporate creatures and places from Acadian culture. Through her vibrant use of color, texture, and form, she creates works that are both evocative and contemplative, drawing viewers into a dialogue with the natural world and the stories it holds.
