A retired Architectural Engineer with a specialization in energy conservation, they were always a very technical person who strived for excellence in their work. Their educational background included learning about color, shapes, and abstracts in architectural school, as well as detail, technical attributes, and functionality in engineering school. Drawing upon their artistic ability, they dabbled in various mediums such as pencil, charcoal, oil, and watercolor paintings. However, their focus shifted after college to photography, a passion that grew stronger after retirement.
Facing a battle with cancer, they turned to post processing of digitally scanned film photographs as a way to continue their artistic pursuits while spending less time outdoors. Becoming a digital artist allowed them to give their photographs a more artistic look, spending more time in Photoshop than at their easel. Their photography work ranged from Fine Art to Travel, Commercial, and Graphic Design, capturing thousands of images each year but only sharing a select few that were deemed special.
