David Lawrence Alpha, born in 1951, is a painter and printmaker hailing from Southwest Louisiana with over 50 years of experience in the art world. Having studied under Elemore Morgan at USL and continued his education at The University of New Orleans, he has honed his craft and traveled extensively throughout the USA, Mexico, Europe, Egypt, and Japan. His works have been exhibited in renowned cities such as Paris, New York, and Dallas, as well as throughout the Gulf Coast region. Primarily based in Lafayette Louisiana, David has dedicated much of his life to carpentry, family, and the local arts scene. In his early career, he collaborated with the Lafayette Natural History Museum in organizing multiple art group showings across Southwest Louisiana.

As a Figurative Expressionist, David draws inspiration from nature, creating vibrant and emotional pieces that depict space with both vibrancy and subtlety. His landscape paintings in oil and acrylic on board and canvas showcase his talent, while his woodcut prints on various materials add a unique touch to his portfolio. David believes that life is a constant source of inspiration, ever-changing yet inherently the same.
