Born in 1989, Cody TheCreative spent his early years in suburban New York, where his passion for drawing began at the tender age of two. Throughout his childhood, he rarely let his pencil leave the paper, even pausing VHS tapes to sketch his favorite characters and album covers. By the time he was eight, Cody had already held a solo exhibition in Greenburgh, NY, titled Heroes and Icons, showcasing his artistic talents to the world.
Despite societal pressures to conform, Cody remained uninterested in fitting into any mold. Instead, he embraced his individuality, which led him on a journey of self-discovery during his preadolescent and adolescent years. While pursuing a Creative Writing degree at SUNY Purchase, Cody unexpectedly found his way back to his artistic roots through a life-drawing course. This rekindled passion for art was further fueled by a summer class with landscape artist Todd J. Gordon, opening Cody's eyes to the beauty of nature as a subject.
As Cody entered his late twenties, he delved into the world of abstract expressionism, seeking solace in new techniques and a fresh artistic vocabulary. Embracing each new medium or technique with the intention of mastering it before breaking the rules, Cody's artistic process became a cycle of conformity and rebellion. This approach has led to a diverse range of projects, including Just an Easel and a Dream (pastel work), PennyPopArt (acrylic on copper), Cody's Wearable Art (hand-painted clothing & sneakers), and Splattered Skies (acrylic on canvas).
Cody TheCreative's innovative approach to art has resulted in a variety of captivating projects that are perfect for home and office decor. From pastel works to acrylic on copper, his unique creations offer a fresh perspective on the world around us.
