Born in 1989 in suburban New York, Cody TheCreative discovered his passion for art at a young age, picking up a pencil and never looking back. From drawing his favorite characters on paused VHS tapes to having a solo exhibition titled Heroes and Icons at just eight years old, Cody's artistic journey has been nothing short of remarkable.
Throughout his preadolescent and adolescent years, Cody focused on exploring his individuality rather than conforming to societal norms. While pursuing a degree in Creative Writing at SUNY Purchase, he unexpectedly found his way back to art through a life-drawing course with Professor Roger Hendricks. This led him to a summer class with landscape artist Todd J. Gordon, where he discovered a newfound love for exploring nature as a subject in his art.
In his late twenties, Cody delved into abstract expressionism, expanding his techniques and vocabulary in the world of art. Embracing each new technique or medium with a desire to understand the rules before breaking them, Cody's creative process is a continuous cycle of exploration and boundary-pushing.
Cody's diverse projects, including Just an Easel and a Dream (pastel work), PennyPopArt (acrylic on copper), Cody's Wearable Art (hand-painted clothing & sneakers), and Splattered Skies (acrylic on canvas), showcase his versatility and unique artistic vision.
