After completing courses at the New York Institute of Photography, Claire pursued a career in Information Technology, spending 25 years designing software systems for financial institutions in New York City. In 2010, she retired from her successful career and turned her attention to her lifelong passion for the night skies. Investing in a Celestron telescope, Claire headed west for stargazing adventures, eventually adding a Canon Rebel T6i camera and a 24mm lens to her collection in 2016 to capture the beauty of astro landscapes and celestial events.
While her love for the night skies remains strong, Claire discovered a new passion in 2019 - capturing the grand vistas and intimate landscapes of the earth. Preferring solitude, she finds inspiration in the natural beauty of the woods, fields, mountains, and waterways, as well as any colorful or eye-catching subjects that catch her attention. Using exclusively Canon gear, Claire obtained a Digital Photography certificate from the New York Institute of Photography in 2023.
Residing in rural Northeast Pennsylvania, Claire is an active member of various arts and conservation organizations, including the Wayne County Arts Alliance, the Delaware Highlands Conservancy, and the Pocono Heritage Land Trust. Her award-winning photos have been showcased in local galleries and juried contests, showcasing her talent for capturing the beauty of nature and the cosmos.
