Print based on original watercolor, gouache and ink by Nancy Polo. We've lived with a lot of different heartaches during this global pandemic. Many of them are hard to define, understand, much less express fully. For six hours every Sunday I stand behind a table under a tent working outdoors in every kind of weather. It's an automatic performance I've learned working at farmers market every week for over twenty years. On the best days this musician stands across the street from me, and plays. I can hardly believe the sound comes from fingers pressed against improbably contorted metal. He has not come to the market since COVID has forced an altered state of existence. I miss his music very much. I was born in DC. Moments on the street with other artists are my favorite part of being from this town.
