We Can’t Throw the Fat Cats Out with the Bathwater

Kathleen Ross By Kathleen Ross

We Can’t Throw the Fat Cats Out with the Bathwater? Represents our collective resistance to change. On a fundamental level, we know that something is inherently broken with the American political system, but we continue to perpetuate it. Monopoly pieces symbolize the final stages of capitalism gone awry: a system that closed its doors on most of the people in society while perpetuating a myth that we can “pull ourselves up by the bootstraps” to achieve financial security. I leave it to the viewer to find bootstraps and further “pull themselves up by them” to financial security without falling down. Finally, I pose this this question, “Isn’t it time to throw the fat cats out with the bathwater?”
