Opinions depicts a replica of a shooting target. A shadowy figure with a gun holds a child hostage and the word, “Opinions” obscures the gun. The red, white, and blue color scheme represents the uniquely American debate about gun rights vs. gun reform. This artwork symbolizes the paradox we all face as soulless gun violence abounds, people pray and do nothing, and gun manufacturers profit from death. Meanwhile, generations of children are held hostage by the aftermath or fear of gun violence. It’s my opinion, one of many, that is lost in the American gun rights debate.
