What Will You Do When You Target Turns On You?

While our culture professes to elevate women’s rights, reality does not match. In our era of increasingly repressive laws directed specifically at women, it seems as though any progress we have made since the 1970’s is disappearing by the day. A female figure in a pink dress and wearing a tiara is smiling and holding a pistol by her side. An American flag with the title’s text written on it fills the background. It is meant to get people thinking, “WHAT WILL YOU DO WHEN YOUR TARGET TURNS ON YOU?” Consider the dystopian consequences of lawless laws. Is it a win to take away a person’s rights? The colors, the objects, and the text all tie into uniquely American issues surrounding women’s rights and gun violence. Digital drawing and collage allows me to keep a smaller carbon footprint because I only print work for display or for a sale.
