Shades of green, Col de la Croix Saint Robert, Le Mont Dore, France. The pass, at 1451m, is a popular cycling route between Le Mont-Dore and Besse-et-Saint-Anastaise and the regional natural park of the Auvergne volcanoes. It was traversed as part of the 8th Stage of the 2011 Tour de France. ⁠ This image was taken on a June day under moody skies as we descended from the top of the pass towards Le Mont-Dore. I was particularly taken by the many different shades of green that were visible on the view across the meadow toward the rock dome of Le Capucin across the valley in the distance.
