Windblown trees and cloud shadows on the northeast side of the Roc de Cuzeau, Le Mont-Dore, France. The Roc, at 1737m, forms the east wall of the caldera of an extinct volcano in the Puy de Sancy range in the Massif Central. There is a strong prevailing west wind across this notch in the caldera wall, and the trees are shaped by it. As we descended the Roc, clouds were moving quickly and exposed interesting colors and contrasts as their shadows played across the meadow.
