Buck Mountain

Mountain Views By Eric Winkler

Buck Mountain rises to 11,943 feet (3,640 m), Grand Teton National Park. Wyoming. Buck Mountain is located just southeast of Grand Teton. It was named after George Buck, the leader of the first party to ascend it in 1893, which took place only 10 days after another group of climbers reached the summit of the Grand. We had planned to take a hike up to Taggart Lake to get closer with the lake in the foreground, but needed to check in to our campsite. Instead, we settled for this lovely view from the park road up through Avalanche Canyon.
