Dating from the 1920's, the Capitola Venetian was an essential part of California's first official 'resort', as well as the first condominiums before the word was even invented. You can just see part of the lagoon that a short distance from here drains into Monterey Bay. Each Fall there is a Begonia Parade with floats that come down the river and end in the lagoon.
