Begun in 1903, Balboa Park in San Diego was the host of the 1915 Panama-California Exposition. This wonderful site, also home to the San Diego Zoo is the source for this image. We found this quiet courtyard which provided a welcome moment of relaxation. The almost cloister-like quality of the surrounding belies the bustle and energy that surrounds it. Just outside was a busy art fair, and yet no one hurried through this quiet place. We couldn't help but feel the energy of so many previous visitors, and took a moment to bask in the warm San Diego day.
