Snow Road

The Land By J. L. Thomason

Photography. Modernity especially in photography has awakened a sensitivity to the blue/red light shift. This photo of a wintry road evokes the hushed calmness of the blue. Winter is a great mystery that highlights the phase transition of water from liquid to solid ice brought about merely because of the temperature shits that the Earth's axial tilt implicates as the physical mechanism behind the changing of the seasons. That the transformative zone of water is implicated suggests a hidden attraction to transition here. Photography offers an opportunity to venture into the expression of this transformational property of the physics. It captures the dynamic shift in atmosphere that Winter can bring. I as a photographer take the adventure into the weather to memorialize the outlying dimensions of this dynamic reality.
