Midnight at the Oasis

This shot I am most proud. I shot this at midnight on a full moon in April. I arrived at the location before dark and chose my camera position. I knew it was a full moon rising, but I was unsure as to what time the moon would be overhead at this location. I waited it out until midnight, all the while keep eyes and ears alert for bears. I was alone on this shoot and definitely a bit exposed. The moon light started to rise over the ridge around 10:30pm, I knew it would get good, I just didn’t know when. At midnight the light was creating shadows from the trees and the scene was surreal. Just enough light to get a trace of color in the scene. This photograph was shot mid April 2022. 32mm, f/22, 30 second exposure.
