Late Fall on Looking Glass Creek

STREAMS & SLIDES By Mike Reinhardt

Looking Glass Creek starting high on the Blue Ridge Parkway, this major tributary of the Davidson River is paralleled by Hwy. 276 as it drops steeply through the Pisgah Ranger District. Plunge pools, cascades and pocket water characterize the majority of the stream’s characteristics.. This photo was taken mid day in November, Fall is winding down, and winter is nearing. As the sun begins to rise over the mountain ridge, the sun and shadows combine to create a beautifully interesting scene. The fall colors and fallen leaves add to the scene. I shoot this spot frequently, I find it quite magical. No matter when you arrive you are always rewarded with an amazing landscape. This photograph has good composure and depth. Shot on Sony A7R4 33mm, f/18 30 second exposure This print is available in portrait style in 3 sizes. 24x18, 19x13, 14x11 Archival inks are used, fade resistant, pigmented inks which provide a superior color range compared to other types of inks.
