Looking Glass Falls B&W

BLACK & WHITES By Mike Reinhardt

I originally shot this scene in color. After reviewing, I didn’t care for the shot that much. This is North Carolina’s most popular waterfall, but it is crowded, and access is difficult due to steep canyon like sides. There are steps down, but everyone has to use them. I shot the scene in Black & White - not knowing what to expect, after reviewing, I liked the shot much better in black & white! This shot reminded me of old timers panning for gold underneath the falls, that is what came to mind for me on this one. This photograph was shot mid December 2021. 35mm, f/4.5, 1/15 second exposure. This print is available in landscape style in 3 sizes. 24x18, 19x13, 14x11 Archival inks are used, fade resistant, pigmented inks which provide a superior color range compared to other types of inks. Widely preferred in fine art and photography circles. Professional Media - Satin Luster Paper - Moab Exhibition Luster now with a gloss optimizer coating. This high quality, 11 mil 300g paper answers artists and photographers requests for a high quality paper between a matte and a gloss, with excellent ink retention characteristics and a color gamut that is second to none. This paper maintains a traditional E surface finish, providing an elegant texture consistent to that of a traditional darkroom print.
