French Broad Falls located in Balsam Grove, NC along NC 215. This beautiful location is a short hike off 215, then you are rewarded with this scenery. These falls have almost a tropical feel, as a type of falls you may see in Jamaica. But make no mistake these Falls are all North Carolina. On this day, the sky was blue and the sun very bright, the sun seemed to light the water a beautiful green tint. When combined with the earth tones of the stone it created a most beautiful surrounding. Each time I view this photo I do a double take. Each day here can present a different picture, another interesting quality of these falls. This photograph was shot the third week of September. 44mm, f/7.1, 30 second exposure.
